Michelle Branco, IBCLC, is a lactation consultant providing services to families facing a variety of breastfeeding challenges. In addition to breastfeeding assessments and care for newborns to preschoolers, she also provides prenatal, back-t0-work and weaning consultations. Private and group classes are available.

Using a collaborative approach through inter-professional referrals and communication with the each client’s health care team, families are supported to reach their breastfeeding goals.

Michelle completed her studies at the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic Institute in Toronto. She has been a La Leche League Leader since 2007, where she leads a west Toronto group and serves on the Toronto-area outreach team. She is the Communications direction for the Canadian Lactation Consultants’ Association and provides support to INFACT Canada by co-ordinating activities in the Greater Toronto Area.

In addition to her work in private practice, she works part-time in the outpatient Breastfeeding Clinic at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto.

Michelle has a special research interest in breastfeeding mothers who have experienced trauma in the perinatal period (ie: birth trauma, NICU admission).

Michelle and her husband have two children, both breastfed.
